WELCOME

Hey, welcome to my website! My name is Anna-Lena Middeldorf, I am an academically educated Rehabilitation Pedagogue (BA, Technical University Dortmund) specialized in Human Nutrition (MHSc, Universidad de las Islas Baleares).

Do you feel overwhelmed when it comes to nutrition for PCOS, endometriosis or fertility? Do you spend hours scrolling through online forums looking for answers? Do you feel chronically tired, irritable or unbalanced? Are you having a hard time maintaining your comfort weight in a gentle way? Are you on your fertility journey and don’t know how to eat to have a better chance of success? Do you want to know how to provide your and your baby’s body with optimal nutrients during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

All of these challenging life situations can be positively influenced by individualized nutrition and lifestyle changes. My goal is to work with you to find out which diet best supports you in your life situation and to accompany you step by step on your way to hormonal balance.

I relieve you of the task of finding out which diet best supports you in your life situation. I take into account your lifestyle, your preferences and your possibilities and work together with you on the gentle transformation of your diet, so that it not only fits you, but can also be integrated into your everyday life in the long term.

The beautiful island of Mallorca has been the place where I live for several years now. I offer my clients both personal and virtual counseling sessions in German, English and Spanish.

“Symptoms tell a story. They are not enemies to be destroyed, but valuable messengers from the body expressing the need for attention and healing. When we give space to our body’s nonverbal language, we can build a mindful relationship with our inner voice, trust our own perception, and make the changes that feel right for us.“

NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING

WOMEN’S HEALTH

Every woman is unique. The media constantly bombards women with conflicting messages, often leading to confusion and despair.

Promoting health and overall wellness is a goal that many women pursue.  The field of women’s health includes maintaining a healthy weight, gynecological and mental health, and reducing the risk of disease. Many of the factors that negatively impact health are related to diet and lifestyle and are preventable. As a Rehabilitation Pedagogue and Nutritional Counselor, I have the resources and knowledge to gently assist women in maintaining their physical and mental balance.

FERTILITY

What you eat in the months leading up to conception affects both your chances of getting pregnant and the health of your offspring.

As a certified Rehabilitation Pedagogue specializing in Human Nutrition, I offer professional nutrition counseling for women and couples trying to conceive either naturally or through assisted reproduction. I offer a suitable number of counseling sessions per month so that I can work closely with my clients. This way we can successfully implement scientifically based nutritional measures that are tailored to you.

PREGNANCY & LACTATION

What you eat during pregnancy not only affects your own health and overall well-being, but also the health of your rapidly developing offspring.  During pregnancy, the foundation is laid for your baby’s lifelong physical and mental health. Therefore, it is important that your growing baby’s nutritional needs are met throughout pregnancy.

There is a lot of nutrition information out there, and it can be very confusing to figure out what is evidence-based. I have made it my mission to provide evidence-based nutrition information to help women make sustainable, long-term changes to improve their health.

Hello, I am Anna!

I was born in Dortmund and have lived on the beautiful island of Mallorca since I was 23. I look back on many years of working with doctors of various specialties and one of the world’s most prestigious fertility clinics. Besides my mother tongue German, I speak fluent English and Spanish. My passion is integrative women’s health and fertility nutrition. I help women improve their nutrition and lifestyle to balance their hormones, improve their vital energy and have healthier menstrual cycles. I guide women and couples on their fertility journey as well as during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Using individualized and evidence-based nutritional counseling, I help women and couples cope with challenging life situations such as infertility, endometriosis, PCOs, irregular cycles, painful periods, perimenopause, pregnancy or breastfeeding.  My goal is to help women understand their bodies and cyclical existence, improve their symptoms, and balance their 5th vital sign – their cycle. As a Rehabilitation Pedagogue, I have the necessary strategies to emotionally accompany and professionally support individuals in challenging life situations.

Why did I specialize in nutrition for women’s health?

Since the age of 16, I have worked primarily for and with women. Over the years, I have come to realize that we still have a very long way to go in terms of understanding and accepting female cyclical existence and the impact of our lifestyle on our hormonal health. I am fascinated by the complexities of female existence and want to contribute to educating and supporting women so that they are comfortable in their unique bodies and empowered to make informed choices that will sustain their long-term health and that of their offspring. In 2018, an illness redirected me toward introspection and professional reorientation. For my own healing process, I began to explore in depth the topic of women’s health promotion. Therefore, it is a matter of the heart for me to educate and support women in challenging life situations.

MY WORK PHILOSOPHY

As a Rehabilitation Pedagogue and Nutritional Counselor, I take a holistic approach to treatment. This means a multidimensional view of health.  An understanding that people are much more than their symptoms. We are spiritual, emotional and physical beings living in a complex cultural environment. I understand the influence of external factors on individual health decisions and know that your values, desires and individual possibilities must be considered as a central part of your journey.

I offer individualized, person-centered nutrition and lifestyle counseling. My desire is to help you bridge the gap between knowledge and behavior change. My long-term goal is for you to develop a positive relationship with food- and feel good about your unique body.

I encourage my clients to adjust their eating habits in ways that create lasting patterns of behavior. To do this, I use a variety of strategies to help you achieve your health goals.  Motivational speaking, mindfulness, and a diet-free approach, as well as an understanding of the „power of habit“ are just a few of my treatment approaches that will guide you on the path of self-care.

My work philosophy can be summarized as follows:

  1. „One man’s food is another man’s poison“ – In nutrition, there is no „universal concept“ that is the same for everyone.
  2. Back to the origin: „real“ food comes from nature, not from a factory, and should be the basis of your diet.
  3. Food should be prepared with care and love, and consumed with mindfulness and gratitude.
  4. A balanced diet, exercise and self-care are the pillars of good health.
  5. Health is a clothing that looks different on each person.

I always practice and live with this philosophy in mind. When I work with you, these values are always at the forefront.
